Have you ever sung karaoke? Or maybe you’re one of those super loud shower singers? I know at one time or another we have all belted out the words to the Titanic theme song by Celine Dion while driving down the road! Near, far, wherever you are! 

In any case, the point I’m trying to make is that music connects us to a deep longing in our souls. It moves us, it makes memories and brings old ones to the front of our mind. It sets moods, adjusts others and it is widely varied and unique while also being similar and uniform. Music is God’s way of allowing us to praise beyond just words, but with our whole being. And He desires for us to sing to Him. In karaoke, the singer selects a song that they enjoy and then repeats the notes and words to emulate the original. I think that is what God would have us do in our worship of Him. I think His written Word, the Bible, is a great place to start our worship. Then we can allow our minds and bodies and souls to express what’s inside of us using His own words. What an amazing opportunity we have to worship the Creator with words He created sung by His created beings. That is a super way to bring glory and honor to His name!
