It is Never Too Late

This is a follow up to my post from last year titled “Alone on the Mountaintop” . In the over one year since that particular post, I have seen an amazing transformation in my grandparents. Over the last 13 months I have seen them both become open and honest about giving and requesting prayer for situations. I have seen them outwardly loving people and family, beyond their previous love which was always there, as if God’s love was pushing through them. I have also seen them join a church where they attend regularly and use phrases like “we love our church family”. I know that they are exploring more about the Bible and are taking in commentary and devotionals. I am humbled and amazed to have been a tool or a nudge used by God, or to have watered or sown the seeds of their faith somewhere along the way. And at 80 years old, it’s no small feat to make a lifestyle change. But when God gets your attention and you answer His call, you can’t help but transform. And so my application for us today is that it is never too late, you are never too old, you have never sinned too much for God to meet you where you are. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks. Are you going to answer and let Him in or make Him stand outside and wait? Because He isn’t going anywhere. His sacrifice on the cross and victory over death placed Him immediately at the door of all people. It’s never too late to open up and let Him in. Will you?
